MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES INJURIES MAY BENEFIT LOS ANGELES LAKERS
Karl-Anthony Towns
Possible Absence for Lakers Game
March 9th, 2024 - The Los Angeles Lakers may be facing a severely depleted Minnesota Timberwolves after news broke that Karl-Anthony Towns sustained a torn meniscus in his left knee. The injury occurred during practice and will sideline the 28-year-old for an indefinite amount of time. Towns played 32 minutes in the Timberwolves' loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday and finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. He leads the Timberwolves this season with 20.8 points per game.
The Timberwolves are already without Anthony Edwards, who is dealing with a hip injury. Edwards is considered day-to-day but missed the Timberwolves' game against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. The absence of both Towns and Edwards would be a major blow to the Timberwolves, who are currently fighting for a playoff spot. The Lakers, meanwhile, are looking to build on their recent success after winning three straight games. The Lakers are currently in fifth place in the Western Conference with a record of 32-27.
The Lakers and Timberwolves are set to face off at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday, March 11. The Lakers will be looking to take advantage of the Timberwolves' injuries and pick up another win.
