Arsenal Reach Champions League Semis After Goalless Draw in Munich

Smith Rowe Shines as Gunners Hold Firm in Germany

London, England - April 10, 2024

Arsenal secured a place in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009 after holding Bayern Munich to a goalless draw in the second leg of their quarter-final tie. Bukayo Smith Rowe was the standout performer for the Gunners, causing problems for the Bayern defense throughout the match.

Arsenal entered the match with a 2-2 advantage from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium. Bayern Munich had the better of the opening stages, with Robert Lewandowski testing Aaron Ramsdale early on. However, Arsenal gradually grew into the game and created several good chances of their own. Smith Rowe was at the heart of Arsenal's attacking play, linking up well with Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli.

The second half was a more even affair, with both teams having chances to win the game. Lewandowski had a golden opportunity to score in the 75th minute, but his header was brilliantly saved by Ramsdale. Arsenal also had their chances, with substitute Eddie Nketiah firing wide in the closing stages.

In the end, Arsenal held on to secure a famous victory and a place in the semi-finals. Bayern Munich will be disappointed to have been eliminated at this stage, but Arsenal will be delighted to have reached the last four of the competition.
